My mother, Lois Schwanke, and I had a nice time remembering your family, particularly your father, when we spotted the obituary for your Mother in the Courant. My father, Walter Schwanke, (who has passed away), was a very devoted patient of your father's, Dr. Claflin. I remember many, many trips to his office with my dad when I was young. He was always so warm and friendly to me, and the care he gave my Dad provided much needed relief for his chronic back pain. I do remember meeting your mother at the house / office a few times. My Mom and I had a laugh remembering the purple and white postcard shaped signs that your dad had in his office. They said, "Keep Smiling!". My dad used to get them from the brochure rack in the office and put them up around our home! When I would get up to sing or perform at a school event, he would hold one where I could see it! I always wished your Dad would stop providing those to his patients!! I'm sure you have many treasured memories of both of your parents. Thank you for letting me share a bit. May God bless you all.
