Lisbeth Hernandez
Lisbeth Hernandez. Our beloved mother and grandmother, Lisbeth Hernandez, passed away suddenly on April 25, 2014. Lisbeth was 76 and was predeceased in 1997 by her husband, Hugo. She will be forever loved by her children, Myriam Racioppi and son-in-law Nick of Morristown, New Jersey; her daughter, Anna Magnoli and son-in-law, Tom of Rocky Hill; and her son, Harold Hernandez and daughter-in-law, Sue of Plainville. She was adored and cherished by her grandson and five granddaughters, each of whom occupied their own special and unique place in her heart (TJ, 24; Kayla, 22; Leah, 18; Melissa, 18; Jessica, 16 and Isabella, 12). She will be remembered by her family for her profound devotion to God and her endless Roman Catholic faith. Her family will fondly remember her humor, her humble ways and her love of sweets. But above all, her legacy will be about her generosity of love toward her family. Lisbeth was born in Pereira, Colombia in 1937 to Jorge Orozco and Ana Fransisca Palau. Growing up in Colombia, she loved living on farms, riding horses and spending time with her brothers and sisters. She married in 1960 and together with her husband moved to the United States where they raised their family in Newington. Lisbeth worked in the insurance industry for twenty years in Hartford. She became a citizen of the United States in 1981. Most recently, she resided in Berlin where she enjoyed watching television, reading and her devotion to prayer and faith. She also leaves behind her nieces, Consuelo and Claudia of North Miami, Florida and Yolanda of Colombia; her surviving siblings, Augusto, Lucia, Dora and Betty, all of Colombia. She was reunited with all of them during a family trip in the summer of 2013 to celebrate her 75th birthday. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be Wednesday, (April 30) at 10:00 am in the Church of the Incarnation, 533 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
