William Kipp Snelling, Sr., 85 of Hartford, formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY, beloved husband of Mary (Kelly) Snelling, died Thursday, December 3, 2015. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, son of the late William J. and Grace (Kipp) Snelling, he lived in Poughkeepsie most of his life, moving to the Hartford area in 2008.
Bill was a member of the National Guard and was employed at IBM prior to retiring. Over the years he enjoyed boating on the Hudson River, skiing in Vermont and tennis. Besides his wife, he leaves a son William Kipp Snelling, Jr. and his wife Judith of Wethersfield; two grandchildren, Andrew Snelling and Erin Snelling and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, (Dec. 11), 12:00 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home.
