Obituary for Wanda H. "Honey" Wayler (Zongol)

Wanda H. (Zongol) Wayler, of Tolland, and previously of West Hartford, passed away with her family by her side. Wanda, who was best known to her family and friends as Honey, was born on October 15, 1927, the youngest of eight children of the late Benjamin and Victoria Zongol. She was raised in Hartford where she lived until she moved to West Hartford with her late husband of 46 years, Bennett J. Wayler. They enjoyed a good life together, raising their family, traveling and sharing the best of times with their beloved sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends. Wanda worked for insurance companies over the years and last worked alongside her husband and brothers at Zongol Dodge in Southington, prior to retiring.
Wanda is survived by her beloved son, Bennett J. Wayler, Jr., of Fairfield, CA and her daughter, Betty Ann (Wayler) McCartney and her son-in-law, Joseph F. of Tolland, with whom she made her home the last nine years. She was also blessed and thankful to have her five loving granddaughters in her life; Jamie Davis and her husband, Ryan of Tolland, Kristen McCartney and her fiancé, Timothy Dyment of Vernon, Elizabeth McCartney of Tampa, Fl and Megan and Lexis Wayler of Fairfield, CA. She also leaves behind her special angels, her great-grandchildren, who she cherished; Kayleigh, Taryn, and Jaxson Davis and Devin Dyment. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Perzan, now of Austin, TX.
Besides her beloved husband, Bennett J. Wayler and her parents, Wanda was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Edward, Chester and Victor Zongol and her sisters, Jean Guinan and Stephanie Kornacki.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
Funeral procession will be Thursday, (June 11), 10:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Entombment will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Wednesday, (June 10), from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
