Obituary for Walter McCusker

Walter McCusker of West Hartford died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the age of 97. He was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Swift) McCusker and the beloved husband of the late Mary (Cameron) McCusker. Walter leaves a son Robert of Arkansas and was predeceased by his two sons, Michael and John. He leaves two grandchildren, Sean and Zachery of Salem and their sons. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by two brothers John F. and James P. Walter was retired from the Fuller Brush Co. and the City of New Britain, after combined service of 45 years in the field of Personnel and Labor Relations. He was a veteran of WWII, a member of the VFW Post 9929, West Hartford, the Irish American Home, Glastonbury, the Knights of Columbus, Newington and a communicant of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 21, 10:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford, everyone is requested to meet at the Church. Burial will in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. The Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, West Hartford has care of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church Memorial Fund, 1088 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT 06110 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
