Obituary for Walter Bruno Lach

Walter Bruno Lach, 92, of Hartford, husband of the late Lorna (Buzzell) Lach, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Born in New Britain on October 26, 1923, son of the late Bruno and Josephine (Mieszwinski) Lach, he lived in Hartford most of all of his life. Walter was a U.S. Army WWII POW Veteran who served in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, in Hartford. Once returning home from the service, Walter was employed at Royal Typewriter. He was later employed by and retired from Viking Bakery. Walter is survived by two sons Gregory and his wife Linda Lach of Collinsville, and Richard and his wife Angela Lach of Newington, his daughter Doreen Eastham of Hartford; four grandchildren Paul Lach, Michelle Ball, Jonathan Cabrera, Jessica Eastham; one great-grandchild Parker and four sisters Josephine Branday of Farmington, Irene Stevens of FL, Wanda Bedard of Hartford, and Gloria Frickman of FL. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Lorna (Buzzell) Lach; four brothers and two sisters. The Funeral Procession will be on Monday, November 23 at 9:15am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford with military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 22 from 2:00-4:00pm.
