Ruth E. (Swanson) Aronson, 84, of New Britain, formerly of West Hartford passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Harry and Maria (Glansholm) Swanson, she grew up in Hartford and lived in West Hartford for over 60 years. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hartford and was past president of the Swedish Junior League, Hartford Chapter. She was a receptionist at Industrial Safety Supply for many years. Ruth had a love of flowers, antiques and vintage planes, her favorite being the Corsair. She is survived by a son, Rick F. Aronson of West Hartford; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bruce Nugent of Ellington; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Marion Swanson of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Sam Hatch and his fiancé Kimberly Nadeau, Lorrie and her husband Mark Hoynack and Ronald Welter and his wife Dawn. She was predeceased by a daughter Carol Welter, a beloved granddaughter Carolyn Welter and her former husband Richard H. Aronson.
A Funeral Service followed by a reception will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 311 Capitol Ave, Hartford on Saturday, March 7, at 1:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 311 Capitol Ave., Hartford, CT 06106.
