Obituary for Roslyn Gizzi (Guglielmetti)

Roslyn (Guglielmetti) Gizzi, 92, of Newington, beloved wife of 69 years to Alessio Gizzi, died Sunday, October 26, 2014. Born in West Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Benvenuta (Plate) Guglielmetti, she was a resident of Newington since 1956. Prior to her retirement she was employed at Conn Acoustics, Inc as an executive secretary for many years. Roslyn was a faithful parishioner of the Church of St. Mary, Newington and was a member of the Sans Souci Women's Club. Besides her husband, Roslyn leaves a son, John Gizzi and his wife, Colleen House of Washington, DC; a sister, Catherine Hlavsa of Newington; a niece, Marsha Dube of New Britain; a nephew, Richard J. Malvicini of Newington and two grandnephews, Matthew Dube of Plainville and David Dube of New Britain. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Webb, Madeline Gizzi, and Jennie Malvicini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, (Oct. 29), at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Visitation will be Tuesday, (Oct. 28) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
