Obituary for Rose Satalino (Moretti)

Rose  Satalino (Moretti)
Rose (Moretti) Satalino, age 93, died on November 8, 2016 at The Reservoir in West Hartford. She was the widow of Frank J. Satalino.

Rose was born in Queens, NY on August 22, 1923, the youngest of 12 children (6 survived to adulthood).
Rose and Frank were married on October 19, 1941. They lived in Queens, NY for several years raising their three children. They moved to New Britain in 1960. In 1983, they moved to New Port Richey, Fl. where they enjoyed 10 years until Frank’s death in 1993. Following his death, Rose returned to Connecticut.
Rose was happiest being with her family, especially when everyone sat at the table playing cards or board games. Rose will be remembered for her beautiful knitting and crocheting, her handmade greeting cards, and her Italian cooking.

Rose is survived by three children: Joseph Satalino and his wife Barbara of Mesa, AZ, Stephen Satalino of Farmington, and Jeanie Satalino Heyer and her husband John of West Hartford.

Rose was very proud of her seven grandchildren: Scott Satalino and his wife Jennifer of Wesley Chapel, FL, Beth Satalino Curtis and her husband Bryan of Plainville, Kristie Lipka Burk and her husband Jeffrey of Chester Springs, PA, Katie Lipka Love of West Hartford, Lindsay Heyer Steele and her husband Christopher of Baltimore, MD, Lisa Heyer Cielesz and her husband Richard of Canton, MA, and Matthew Satalino of Queens, NY.

Rose leaves twelve great-grandchildren: Alyssa and Michael Satalino, Rebecca and Andrew Curtis, Jeffrey (JJ), Christian and Samuel Burk, Amaya, Dylan and Kai Love, Olivia Steele, and Alexander Cielesz.
Rose leaves several nieces and nephews. Rose also leaves a special friend, Frances Piera of New Britain.
Rose was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Reservoir for their care of Rose, especially Agnes, Sonia, Christine, Sheila (nurse), Sheila (CNA), and Kathy for their many kindnesses. Special thanks also to the Vitas staff, especially Colleen.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Helena’s Church on Echo Road in West Hartford on Saturday November 12, 2016 at 11:00am. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.
Throughout her life, Rose had a special devotion to St. Jude.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rose’s name can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
