Obituary for Rocco Mancini Sr.

Rocco Mancini, Sr., 66, of Newington, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, son of Francesco and Antonia Mancini of West Hartford, he grew up West Hartford and lived in Newington for 20 years. Rocco retired from Jacobs Manufacturing and he retired from the Army Reserve on March 27, 2010 after 23 years. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Besides his father and mother, he leaves two sons, Frank Mancini and Rocco Mancini, Jr., both of Newington; a daughter, Josephine Mancini of Orlando, FL; his brother, Joseph Mancini of West Hartford; his sister and brother-in-law, Madeline and Louis Mancini of Prospect; an uncle, Peter Mancini of West Hartford; and also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his biological mother, Josephine Mancini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., in St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Friday, 5-8 p.m., at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford.
