Obituary for Richard E Pelletier

Richard E. Pelletier, 87, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Friday March 11, 2016. He was the husband of the late Gloria J Pelletier to whom he was married for over 40 years. Richard was born in Hartford, son of the late Ernest L. and Y. Pearl Pelletier. He graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict and held the rank of Sergeant upon discharge. He lived for over 60 years in Wethersfield, Connecticut surrounded by several special neighbors. Prior to his retirement, Richard worked for many years as a Printing Supervisor at Finlay Printing in Hartford and Bloomfield. He enjoyed traveling and cruising with his wife, biking, his neighborhood walks, puttering in his garden and mastering his IPAD. He was an avid Red Sox and UConn basketball fan.
Richard is survived by his two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard of Newark, Delaware and Robert and Karen of South Glastonbury and grandchildren, Jake Pelletier, Jennifer and Jay Hedstrom and Meaghan Pelletier, all who affectionately called him Nono. He was predeceased by a sister Gloria Lachapelle. The Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home in West Hartford is handling the arrangements. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. At the request of the family, services and internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to the American School for the Deaf, 139 North Main Street, West Hartford, Connecticut 06107.
