Phyllis Ann  Hallenbeck (Brignano)
Phyllis Ann (Brignano) Hallenbeck, 81, of West Hartford passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 with all her loved ones by her side. She was the beloved wife for 53 years of the late Henry L. Hallenbeck . Phyllis was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Patsy and Helen (Biss) Brignano and was a graduate of William H. Hall High School, West Hartford, Class of 1950. She had been an employee at UCONN Health Center, Farmington and retired in 1994 as a secretary at the State Veterans Hospital, Rocky Hill. Phyllis enjoyed her volunteer work with Lutheran Brail. She was a very avid sports mother and grandmother attending all sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Hallenbeck-Farrah and her husband, Rommerro of West Hartford; four sons and 5 daughters-in-law, Rev. Dana L. and Bunny Hallenbeck, West Hartford, Mark D. and Wendy Hallenbeck of East Hartland, Bret W. and Terri Hallenbeck of Tolland, Kurt H. and Tina Hallenbeck of West Simsbury and Anne (McCormick) Hallenbeck of Burlington; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren whom she lived for, they were her life; her brother, Patsy J. Brignano of Bloomfield, a step-brother and sister-in-law, John and Joyce Cicerchia of Coventry, a step-sister, Barbara Benson of Florida and Pippin, her pet dachshund, who became another part of her family she loved. Besides her husband, Hank, she was predeceased by her son, Todd M. Hallenbeck.
There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 am. in Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, 224 Lovely St., Avon followed by a reception in the Parish Center to continue the celebration of Phyllis’s life. Calling hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to CT Chapter Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 372 Danbury Rd., Wilton, CT 06897.
