Obituary for Maurice J. Griffin

Maurice J. Griffin of West Hartford died on May 1st surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Moriarty) Griffin for over 61 years. He was born in Glenbeigh, County Kerry Ireland, son of Michael and Catherine (Sweeney) Griffin. He lived in West Hartford for the last 49 years. He was a communicant of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. He was employed by The Travelers Insurance Company for 34 years and was a member of the Travelers Men's Club and their golf team. He also was an assistant to the Golf Pros of Tumblebrook and Cliffside Country Clubs.

Besides his wife Helen, he leaves two daughters, Kathryn and her husband David Wilkinson, Maureen and her children, Aaron Testa and Elise Testa. He was predeceased by five brothers: Patrick, Michael, John, Jeremiah and Daniel; two sisters, Molly Casey and Anne Cosgrove. He also leaves many loved nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be on Sunday, May 4 from 2-4PM at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, May 5 at 10am at St. Brigid Church, Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.

His family has the deepest appreciation to all the caregivers at the Hebrew Home who provided excellent care for him in his final days.
