Mary (McCarthy) Bjorkman, 81, of West Hartford, beloved wife of 57 years to Wilbur E. Bjorkman, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret McCarthy, she was a graduate of Our Lady of Sorrows School and Mt. St. Joseph Academy. Mary enjoyed sports, was a member of the Fernleigh Lawn Bowling Club and a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, West Hartford. She also enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. Besides her husband , Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Foster of Chicago, IL; her two sons, Paul E. Bjorkman of South Windsor and Eric M. Bjorkman of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren Lauren and Peter Foster and a brother, Edward McCarthy of West Hartford. She was predeceased by three brothers, Gerald, George and Frederick McCarthy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, (October 14), 10:00 am at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford. Everyone is requested to meet at the Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be Tuesday, (October 13), from 5 - 7 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
