The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mario DeCapua can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Rick Harrington
Condolence: My condolences on the passing of Mr. DeCapua: he was more than a fine musician; he was a teacher. While my many hours trying to learn to play the trumpet were only marginally successful, Mr. DeCapua gave me a love and appreciation for fine music that I thank him for every day. His patience and dedication to young scholars of music made him a most special man. One of the highlights of my childhood was being selected to blow Taps for the veterans at Bel-Air Manor on Memorial Day, 1963. Thank you for the Music...the band plays on.

Condolence: I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. DeCapua. Mr. DeCapua was a wonderful influence on me.The first thing he would say to us in band was "Hello Music Lovers". This gentle man played an important part of my life in music. He started me on the trumpet and here it is 55 years later & I am still playing. From Hartford Symphony, to Goodspeed to Broadway! Thanks to him my dream to be a musician came true!

Condolence: My colleague, mentor, teacher, musician, and good friend. When I come to teach in Newington, Mario took me under his wing and was a major influence in my professional and personal life. I patterned my teaching style after the master, Mario. His warmth and caring has and will always be a part of me and of those fortunate to know him.

God placed him here for good reasons and will now welcome him to his deserved place in heaven. With our love.
