Maria Rego, 89, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Joao Rego, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Born in the Azores, Portugal, she had lived in Hartford since 1975. Maria is survived by her children, four sons, Manuel, Denis, Tony and Ernesto Rego and five daughters, Maria Cabral, Filomena Rego, Trindade Sousa, Aida Bairradas and Tina Pina; 36 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by a daughter Celeste Moura and a son Armando Rego. Funeral procession will be Monday, Jan. 21, at 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 20, from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
