Maria Piedade (DaCosta) Dos Santos, 83 of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Fernando M. Dos Santos, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born in Corgas, Seia, Portugal, she had lived in Hartford since 1966 and retired from St. Francis Hospital after 25 years of service. Maria was an active member of the Parkville Senior Center and Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Hartford. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to take walks in her neighborhood. Maria Piedade leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Antonio M. and Idalinda Santos of Wethersfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Antonio Disorbo of Burlington; five grandchildren, Scott Santos and his wife Andrea, Elizabeth Santos, Matthew, Thomas and Samuel Disorbo; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Eve Santos and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital for their loving care.
Funeral procession will be Monday, July 29 at 9:00 a.m. from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
