Obituary for Marcel J. Grenier

Marcel J. Grenier, 88, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Lorraine (Sherman) Grenier, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at John Dempsey Hospital. Born in Fitchburg, MA, son of the late George and Delia (Delisle) Grenier, he was a resident of West Hartford for many years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at General Electric for 38 years. Marcel was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII and a communicant of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. He was a member of the Hartford Bridge Club and enjoyed square dancing. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Marc Grenier of West Hartford; two daughters, Joan Willcocks and her husband Raymond of Peachtree City, GA and Carol Grenier of Carson City, NV; a grandson John Willcocks and several nephews. Marcel was predeceased by a sister Claire Richard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, (February 8), 11:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the Mass from 9:45 to 10:45 am at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
