Manuel Marques
Manuel Marques, 92, of West Hartford, beloved husband of the late Maria B. Marques, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Avery Heights, Hartford. Born in Estarreja, Portugal, he had lived in West Hartford for the past 34 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford and a member of the Hartford Portuguese Club, Newington. Manuel is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Anna Maria and Manuel Mendes of Newington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jorge and Andrea Marques of Newington and Antonio and Elizabeth Marques of Newington; two sisters-in-law, Celeste Silva of Newington and Rosa Simoes of Portugal; seven grandchildren, Halston Mendes, Mariah and Selina Mendes, Marcela and Bianka Marques, Jason and Briana Marques and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Avery Heights, Hartford, especially, John Barros, Rita Banks and Beatrice. Funeral procession will be Saturday, 12:00 pm from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. A Seven Day Mass will be Thursday,(March 19) at 7:00pm at the Church.
