Obituary for Lucille Seccareccia (Gallicchio)

Lucille Gallicchio Seccareccia, 85, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on July 18th at Saint Francis Hospital. She was the widow of Dino Seccareccia and shared 59 years of marriage together.

Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lena Gallicchio. She attended the Mount Saint Joseph Academy and the Saint Francis School of Nursing where she graduated. Lucille spent many years as a Registered Nurse at both Saint Francis Hospital and Avery Heights doing what she did best, caring for people. When God put Lucille on this earth He gave to this imperfect world a rare gift, the gift of a devoted and loving daughter, a true and faithful wife, a mother who nurtured and protected her children, a grandmother who encouraged and supported her grandchildren, a sister who was comforting and sympathetic, an aunt and godmother who cared for her nephews and nieces like they were her own and lastly, a nurse, who dispensed not only the medication to heal the patients she cared for but just as
importantly, lifted their spirits because of her compassion and caring. Her talents and accomplishments were many but she will ultimately be remembered and celebrated for being the giving person she was, always putting others before herself.

We grieve her loss because she is no longer with us but we celebrate her beautiful life and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

She is survived by her three children; Gianni and his wife Diahl of West Hartford, Cookie and her husband John Gardner of West Hartford, with whom she made her home, and Dino and his wife Su of Seattle. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Daniel, Gianni, Pub, and Naimah, her sister and brother-in-law Anne and Paul Maffiolini, nephews Joe Marotta (Laurie), Rick Maffiolini and Deb Maffiolini and their families here in Connecticut, as well as her close, extended family and friends. Lucille

was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Frances and Frank Marotta, Jr. and her godson Jim Maffiolini. Services were private. On-line condolences please visit: www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
