Louise Mary (Russo) Goodwin Shea, 92, of West Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday, June 6, 2015, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Raymond D. Shea for 57 years. Born and raised in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary V. (Potenza) Russo, she was a 1940 graduate of Weaver High School. Louise was a faithful communicant of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford for her entire adult life. She was employed at Royal Typewriter, Whitney Chain (where she met Raymond) , First National Bank, and the Town of West Hartford, as Assistant Town Clerk. She was a Justice of the Peace and enjoyed officiating many weddings. She leaves behind her adoring husband, Raymond, and her three children, Marie E. Goodwin and husband Robert F. Tirone of Spring, TX, James D. Goodwin, Jr. and wife Marcia Politz Goodwin of Newington, Patricia J. Shea and husband Peter H. Lovell of Milford, formerly of Glastonbury; six grandchildren, Susan L. Tirone and husband Miguel A. Quinones of Spring, TX, Robert F. Tirone, Jr. of St. Thomas, Virgin Island,
Beth Ann Tirone of Houston, TX, Stacey M. Goodwin of Newington, Jason P. Lovell of Chicago, IL and Jamie M. Lovell of Milford and 5 great-grandchildren, Sara M. Quinones, Alex M. Quinones, Lillian R. Quinones of Spring, TX, and John R. Tirone and Ethan D. Tirone of Houston, TX; her brother Richard A. Russo and wife Janice of Mill Valley, CA., and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, James D. Goodwin, and five brothers, Leonard Russo, Michael Joseph Russo, Francis A. Russo, Alfred W. Russo, and Edward Russo.
Funeral procession will be Wednesday, (June 10), 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
