Obituary for Linda Orofino (Anello)

Linda Orofino (Anello)
Linda Gail (Anello) Orofino, 73, of West Hartford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a long but very brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Linda grew up in Tampa, FL where she participated in the Latin Fiesta Pageant. As part of the court she toured Europe, an experience she carried with her throughout her life. Linda always dressed with style, shared a warm smile with everyone and loved fine art and music. Linda moved to Washington, D.C. when she was 23 with her cousin Jo Anne and met her husband, the love-of-her-life John Orofino, whom she married on October 15, 1966. Linda was a devoted and loving wife, mother and “Nana” to her family and was kind, generous and loyal to so many wonderful friends. In addition to her husband John, she leaves behind three children: Christina Taylor and her husband Talbott Taylor of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina; John Orofino of Los Angeles, California; and Aleeta Jeamel and her husband Adam Jeamel of Wethersfield, Connecticut. Linda was blessed to be a cherished “Nana” to her three grandchildren: Talbott Taylor, Samuel Jeamel and Sloane Jeamel. She also leaves behind her brother George P. Anello and his wife Sharon of Tampa, Florida and her two nieces, Lisa and Michelle. She also leaves behind her best friend, Jo-Anne Stevens of Farmington, Connecticut, who she considered her own sister and “partner-in-crime”. Linda’s greatest gifts were to make everything look easy, she was a great entertainer and a first-class host who made everyone feel welcomed, comfortable and loved in her home. Linda worked for 30 years as the Officer Manager at RJS Associates. She was also Past Chapter President of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Her husband and children express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Floor 3CD at Riverside Health & Rehab of East Hartford and Masonicare. You welcomed her and took care of her as she would have done for you in her own home, particularly Austin Walker, her “angel” at Riverside. Linda is also survived by the “Titanium Mums” - Sue Kelly, Lil Iannone and Ginny Blanch, whose strength helped them face life’s challenges with class and laughter. Words cannot express how much she cherished your love and friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations in the “Memory of Linda Orofino” can be made to: Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4B, Southington, Connecticut 06489. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4-7 at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10 am at St. Helena’s Church, Echo Lane, West Hartford, CT. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com.
