Lidia P. (Santos) Santos, 95, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Arthur C. Santos, Sr., passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born in New Bedford, MA , daughter of the late Faustino and Maria Conceicao Santos she lived in Portugal returning to the U.S. in 1944 moving to Hartford in 1946. Lidia was employed at Hartford Faience, the Royal Typewriter on the assembly line and retired from the Aetna Insurance Co. Lidia was dedicated to her husband and enjoyed hunting and fishing with him. They both loved to entertain family and friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ernest Matias of Farmington; a sister, Maria Cadete of Hartford; a brother, John Santos of New Bedford, MA; her grandchildren, Bonnie Aguiar and her husband Mario, Deborah Desrosiers and her husband Bernie, Lisa Matias and Ellen Santos. Lidia also leaves her great-grandchildren, Bernie Desrosiers, Tom Desrosiers, Stephen Desrosiers, Alyssa Serrambana and Nicholas Serrambana and a great-great-granddaughter, Lillia Grace Desrosiers. She was predeceased by a son, Arthur C. Santos Jr., a grandson, Ernest J. Matias and a brother, Ernesto Zebreira.
Funeral procession will be Monday, March 2, 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 79 New Park Ave., Hartford. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Sunday, March 1, from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home.
