Obituary for Leonora "Lee" Goroshko (Krasniewski)

Leonora "Lee" (Krasniewski) Goroshko, 93, of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Alexander W. Goroshko, passed away peacefully of Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Kotlarz) Kransniewski she was a resident of West Hartford for the past 53 years. Lee was employed at Equitable Ins. Co., in New York City for 25 years and was also employed at the Travelers Ins. Co., for 25 years as a Senior Underwriter in the Group Department, prior to her retirement. She had been a dedicated Den Mother for the Webster Hill School Cub Scouts, West Hartford; a proud Republican and a communicant of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford and a member of the Church's Ladies Guild. Lee's great joy was her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved cooking polish food for. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth A. and Alison Goroshko of West Hartford, two grandchildren, Alexander A. Goroshko and Colleen E. Goroshko both of West Hartford, a niece, Julie Fernandes and three nephews, Michael Phillips and Ronald and Thomas Krasniewski. Lee was predeceased by two sisters, Lottie Phillips, Estelle Stoutenburgh and a brother Anthony Krasniewski.
Funeral procession will be Friday, (Oct.24) 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Entombment will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Thursday (Oct. 23) from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church, 1088 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT 06110 or Northwest Catholic High School, 29 Wampanoag Dr, West Hartford, CT 06117.
