Obituary for Kenneth J. "Ken" Marzik

Kenneth J. "Ken"  Marzik
Kenneth J. “Ken” Marzik, 62, of West Hartford and formerly of Bridgeport, departed this life Tuesday, April 7, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Dawn (McTighe) for nearly 23 years. He was born October 13, 1952 in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Elmer V. Marzik and Irene “Jean” Marzik. Ken recently retired from State of CT Public Utility Regulatory Authority. Ken, known to many as Moose or Uncle Moose, enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog Ginger, and always enjoyed a good steak and cigar. Besides his wife, Ken is survived by his two children, Sean and Kaitlin, both 16, also of West Hartford. He is also survived by his brother Vincent Marzik of Bridgeport, his sister Jane Catapane and her husband Robert of Stratford, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and of course, his best friend Jack Betkoski and all his friends, all of whom he loved very much. He is also survived by Dawn’s family, Jo-Ann and Jack McTighe of Manchester and her 5 siblings and their families, also embraced and loved him from the start. Ken will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 12, 2015, from 3-6 pm at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home at 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Helena Church, 30 Echo Lane, West Hartford, CT, will be celebrated on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in each child’s name (Sean Marzik and Kaitlin Marzik) at American Eagle Financial Credit Union. Deposits can be made in person or by mail at the branch at 1245 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110.
