Kathleen Mary (Dillon) McGahern, 79, of Hartford, formally of Bloomfield, widow of James McGahern died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Avery Heights, Hartford. Born in County Limerick, Ireland, daughter to the late John and Mary (Kelly) Dillon, Kathleen lived in Bloomfield for many years. Kathleen was a member of The Church of St. Timothy, West Hartford for many years. She worked at G.Fox, Filenes, and retired from Macy’s. She enjoyed her home, music, and the company of family and friends, especially in her later years. Kathleen leaves her brothers Cornelius Dillon of County Limerick, Ireland, John Dillon and William Dillon of London, England. Her sisters Mary Ryan of County Limerick, Ireland, Margret Josland of London, England, Noreen Kilroy of Rocky Hill, Bridget Quinn of West Hartford and Ellen Hart of Milton, MA. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, Patrick, and Michael Dillon. The funeral procession will be Saturday, October 6, at 9:30AM from Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Church of St. Timothy at 10AM. Burial will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 8:30 to 9:30AM. The family would like to thank Avery Heights for their loving care.
