Obituary for Justine M. Shea (Gillespie)

Justine M. Shea (Gillespie)
Justine M. (Gillespie) Shea passed away on August 12, 2012, with grace and peace. She was surrounded by her loved ones and held tight. Daughter of the late Stella and Stanley Gillespie, Justine raised her family in Elmwood later settling in Rocky Hill. She was retired from Aetna and dedicated her life to helping others after she retired. We will remember her strength, her kindness and her love for her family, which we’ll carry with us always in our hearts. Justine had an unselfish nature to help others, which she did for so many years, caring for those first before herself. We are blessed to have had such a wonderful and devoted mother. There aren’t words to say how much you’ll be missed and how much we love you. Our love forever – your kids. She leaves behind a daughter Kim Boyd and husband John Boyd at Rocky Hill. Remember the old times, the good times and keep those in your heart to heal your pain. She leaves behind a son Keith Shea of Kentucky who a mother couldn’t be prouder of. Her heart is filled with love for him and his for her always. He hung the moon… along with Keith, she leaves his wife Mary Shea who mom loved deeply and cared for so much, she wasn’t a daughter-in-law, she was a daughter. She leaves behind a daughter Patricia Shea of Southington, whose love and devotion for each other was strong – ‘til the end. Always there for each other our love is endless. I take her with me always. Justine leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Keith Shea Jr., Nicole Shea-Koors, Samantha DePaiva, Sara Johnson, Jennifer Boyd, Gillian Boyd and Aaron Boyd. Justine watched them grow, took care of them and loved them. They were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind a great-granddaughter, a special little girl that stole her heart Audrey Rose (aka Pokie Pokie) who was the light of her eyes. Spending time with Audrey made her so happy and full of love. She leaves behind a sister Linda Ricciardi and husband Chris, who through the years their love was strong and she was always in Justine’s heart and her husband who she cherished and loved. She joins her sister Barbara Carbone in heaven, Mom’s angel. She loved her so and missed her everyday of her life. She leaves behind Barbara’s husband, Nick Carbone who she loved and admired. Mom also leaves behind a special friend, part of the family, loved him like a son. I know she would want to thank him for helping her family through one of the hardest times. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Justine leaves many friends, long childhood bonds, friends that were like family and new friends that seemed like old. To all she loved so much. A special thanks to St. Mary Hospital for helping my family with such kindness and care. To Vitas Hospice, to the doctors, aides, and especially all the wonderful nurses for taking such good care of our mother and for treating our mom with dignity and respect and being there for our family, we will always be grateful, thank you, Patricia and Keith Shea. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, (September 1) 10:00 am in St. Brigid Church, 1088 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
