Obituary for Judith A Scagel (Stevens)

Judith A. (Stevens) Scagel, 76, of Newington, beloved of the late Donald H. Scagel, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at home. Born in New Haven, daughter of the late Kathryn (Miller) Loomis and Norman Stevens, she had lived in Newington for many years. Judith was a member of the VFW, Hannon-Hatch, 9929, the Ladies Auxiliary and had served as state president; she joined MOCA and was president of the Pup Tent 14. She is survived by her children, Robin Northrup and her husband Curt of Auburn, NH, Nancy Volpi of Gillett, WY and Jacquelynn Gallagher of Newington; a sister, Roberta Thomas of Tampa, Fl; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Judith was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Clifford Gallagher and a sister Kathryn Moquin. Calling hours are Monday, September 28, from 9 to 10:30 am at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by Graveside Services, 11:00 am at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
