Obituary for Joseph Luis Castro

Joseph L. Castro, 56, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Jeanne E. Lavoie-Castro died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at home. Born in New York City, NY, son of the late John and Julia (Colon) Castro, he was a resident of West Hartford for many years, moving to Rocky Hill five years ago. Joseph was employed at Advest for 17 years and the last 7 years he was employed by Deloitte Touche. He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan. Besides his wife, he is survived by son, Joseph Castro, Jr. of Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Castro and Antoane Boysaw and four grandsons, Joshua, Jacob, Joseph and Jordan all of New Britain; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John and Evelyn Castro and David and Wanda Castro of New Jersey and Robert Purvey of Missouri; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard J. and Michelle Lavoie of Wethersfield and Dianne L. and John Worman of Portugal and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Joseph was predeceased by a brother Steven Castro and a sister Sandra Castro. A Memorial Service will be Saturday,(Feb.8), 11:00 am at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home.
