Obituary for John J. Sheehy

John J.  Sheehy
John J. Sheehy, 82, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Anna (Kelliher) Sheehy died, Sunday, August 16, 2015, peacefully at home. Born in Hartford on April 19, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Sheehy. A West Hartford resident since 1969, he was employed at the AETNA Life and Casualty for 33 years. He was the past President of the AETNA Life Men’s Club. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the Honor Guard, 3rd Infantry Regiment and as a guard at The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier in Arlington, VA. He was a graduate of the University of Hartford Class of 1964. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John Sheehy and his wife Dawn of Dunedin, FL; five daughters, Catherine Cormier and her husband Dave of West Hartford, Maureen Hart of Hartsdale, NY and former son-in-law Matt Hart, Patricia Cronin and her husband Phil of Amesbury, MA, Meg Sheehy of New York City, Sarah Dyke and her husband Mac of Fargo, ND; two sisters, Lillian Hussey and Eileen Ragnoni and her husband Daniel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack Kelliher, Frank and Carol Kelliher, Margaret and William Dawson, Joseph and Delores Kelliher. In addition, he leaves seven grandchildren, Ryan Sheehy, Madailein and Alexandra Hart, Trey Cormier, Ann and Elizabeth Cronin and Perry Dyke. He leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Wednesday,( August 19), from 5PM to 8PM at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant St, West Hartford on Thursday, (August 20), at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
