Joao N. Silva, August 11,1930 to February 10, 2017. Nickname: "Joao Da Noiva"
After a lengthy illness and a short hospital stay, Joao slipped peacefully away from us in the early light of day on February 10th. He leaves to mourn his cherished wife Maria of 58 years, beloved children Iolanda, Joao, Pedro, their spouses, and several grandchildren, along with many family members both in the U.S. and overseas. Dad's wish was for his final resting place to be the soil of his beloved homeland Portugal; he will be flying home on February 15. The funeral will be held in Mira De Aire Portugal on February 17th. A memorial service will be held upon the family's return on Monday, February 20th at Our Lady of Fatima, 50 Kane St, Hartford, CT at 7 pm. Our family wishes to thank everyone for their kindness and support through this difficult time.
