Condolence: In the few years that I knew Mary and Jim, I looked forward to visiting with them and chatting with them about family, politics or just life in general. Jim was pleasure to be with and there was little question that his family was his greatest love. He was a man who emanated great character, and no doubt passed that along to all of his children. I will miss his smile when I visit again and extend my deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to the Gustafson family. I truly enjoyed the the time that I worked with Capt Gustafson at the WHPD. We would challenge one another to some baseball trivia from time to time. In Gus's memory today I quizzed Jeff Rose and true to form and with Gus in mind he got the answer correct. The Captain will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Gustafson family.

Condolence From: A.J. Murphy
Condolence: Mary,
My first impression of Jim was at a pool party at your home. I thought, “Now here’s the strong silent type.” I had no idea that he was a WHPD Captain or a U.S. Navy Vet. As I went through my own life changes, on rare occasions, I would get the occasional nod of affirmation from your husband that says to one man from another, “ Stay the course, put your faith in God and continue to strive to do the next right thing.” No lecture, non judgmental. For that I will always be grateful.
Please know that you can call on me to assist you in any way that I am able, 24/7, 365 days a year. That goes for the entire W.H. crew, Margaret & Mike, Pat & Liz, Terry & Ron, ect.
My most sincere condolences,
A.J. Murphy

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Gustafson and family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Gustafson. What a wonderful man he was and what a beautiful family Mrs.& Mr. Gustafson created. I will always remember him whenever I enter St Helena Church, sitting on "his side", passing the basket for collections alway with a wink and a smile and his willingness to get involved and help out at St Brigid School for events and functions. I am sure this will be a very difficult Thanksgiving for all of you, but I am thankful that I had the opportunity to know such a great man and family. May he rest in peace and you all be comforted by the belief that he is in a better place, lovingly watching over you all from heaven. Love Sally
