Obituary for James V. "Jimmy" Celio

James V. "Jimmy"  Celio
James V. "Jimmy" Celio, 80, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of 57 years to Ann (Dorbuck) Celio, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Hartford, son of the late Charles and Rose (Ottomano) Celio he resided in West Hartford and attended West Hartford schools, moving to Wethersfield in 1950.

Jimmy owned and operated the Nott St. Market in Wethersfield for 22 years and he also had worked for the Wethersfield Board of Education. He operated Jim's Pilot House Snack Bar at the Rocky Hill Ferry Landing from 1990 - 1999 and he was a charter member of Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, Company 3. Jimmy and Ann enjoyed spending winters in Pompano Beach, FL.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Charles A. Celio; a daughter, Carol Ann Celio; a grandson, James V. Celio; a sister, Angela (Celio) Sipala and her husband, Vincent all of Wethersfield. Jimmy is also survived by two nieces, Dr. Sherry R. Catania and Lisa M. Catania, and special cousins, Jim and Tina Celio and family; along with cousins and many friends.

Funeral procession will be Friday, 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Thursday, (Feb. 11), from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
