Irene B. Menard, 95, of Newington, beloved wife of the late George Menard died Monday, September 23, 2013. Born on December 2, 1917 in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Louise and Louis Belisle. She has lived in Newington since 1954. She retired from Royal Typewriter and then owned and operated motels in Newington. Irene leaves many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Her family would like to thank Irene’s caregivers Violet and Gina for their compassion and loving care. Calling hours will be prior to the funeral service on Thursday, September 26, from 8:15AM- 9:15AM at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home 1084 New Britain Ave. West Hartford, CT 06110. The funeral procession will be at 9:15 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church East Hartford.
