Grace (Driscoll) Murphy, 87, widow of Richard D. Murphy of Willington, CT formerly of West Hartford died Monday, (August 4, 2014) at Woodlake of Tolland. She was born in Hartford on July 21, 1927 daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Malone) Driscoll. Grace is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Murphy of Newington, Denise and Robert Brown of Stafford Springs and Eileen and Raymond Nye of Willington; son, Thomas J. Murphy of Willington. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law , Bernard and Lorraine Driscoll of Rocky Hill; sister, Dorothy Lawless of Somers; sisters-in-law, Sr. Agnes Murphy of New Britain and Sophie Johnson of New Jersey and her grandchildren, Rebecca White, Thomas Brown and Jennifer Brown. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Driscoll. Grace worked for many years at A&P and Hartford Federal Savings Bank. Grace had a love of Irish music and Fife & Drum Corps and an avid New York Yankee fan. Family would like to thank the entire staff at Woodlake of Tolland and the Hospice Care of VNA.
The Funeral procession will be Friday, August 8, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10AM. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Calling hour period Friday, 8-9:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made be made to Office of Radio & Television, 15 Peach Orchard Road, Prospect, CT 06712-1052.
