Frances Y. “Fran” (Ouellet) Hurwit, 84, of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Carl Hurwit, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 4, 2012. Born in Quebec, Cananda, she was a resident of West Hartford most of her life. Fran was a realtor in the Greater Hartford area for many years. She received many awards during her career including Realtor Associate of the Year. Fran enjoyed bowling, her trips to the casino and was an avid Red Sox fan. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Judie Waterbury of New Jersey; a grandson Brendan Waterbury of New Britain and a great-granddaughter Rylie Waterbury. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Desiree and Bruce Liberty, Tina and Jim Barbeau, Donald and Sue Devanney, Dane and Terri Devanney ; her step-great-grandchildren, Daniel and Derek Dobler, Brianna and Brooke Barbeau, Amy, Jessica, Donnie, Cory and Erin Devanney and Alexis Devanney and Nicholas and Bobby Mohollen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Ann Ouellet and Gaston and Fernand Ouellet all of Canada and five nephews. Funeral procession will be Thursday, 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in the Church of St. Helena, Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
