Obituary for Edward (Ned) Medeska

Edward "Ned" Medeska, 68, of West Hartford, died Friday, August 19, at a local hospital with his family by his side after a lengthy illness. Ned was the son of the late Edward and Eileen (Wohlgemuth) Medeska of West Hartford. He retired from Chandler Evans after many years of service. Ned was a communicant of St. Brigid Church. He leaves two sisters and a brother-in-law, Diane Janiak of West Hartford, Kathleen and Patrick Snyder of Alexandria Bay, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Nancy Medeska of Plainville; and a devoted family friend, Randy Dobbs of Ormond Beach, FL. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, Matthew and Carina Janiak, Dean and Cory Janiak, Mark Janiak, Brian Medeska, Michael and Kyle Medeska, Whitney Snyder, Lisle Snyder and Aziel Snyder. He also leaves great nieces and nephews Nicholas, Riley, Bradley, Taylor and Emmeline Janiak, and Lily and Georgia Medeska.
Funeral procession will be Thursday, August 25, at 9:30 a.m. from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Visitation is prior to the funeral procession from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
