Edward S.  Hussey
Edward S. Hussey, 88, of West Hartford, beloved husband of 59 years to Lillian (Sheehy) Hussey, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2014. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Edward S.Hussey , Sr., and Della (Clancy) Hussey. He was a resident of West Hartford for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was a tool and die maker by trade. He was employed by Royal Typewriter for 29 years. This was the same company his father was employed by. After Royal’s closure, he continued his career at Wiremold and then Holo-Krome until his retirement in 1991. He was a distinguished WWII US Navy Veteran. He also had an avid love of the ocean, jazz music, and duck pin bowling. He enjoyed doing all these activities with his family and long-time friends. Besides his wife he leaves two sons and daughters-in-laws, Stephen T. and Susan B. Hussey of West Hartford and Michael E. and Mary Ellen Hussey of Boston, MA; a daughter and son-in law, Eileen M. and Anthony Gallicchio of Stonington; and a sister, Anita Hudak, of East Hartford. He also leaves six grandchildren: Kevin, Brian, Timothy, Shawn, Anthony and Laura, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia O ‘Rourke. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Hughes Health and Rehab for all the wonderful care and compassion shown to them and Ed.
Funeral procession will be Tuesday, 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hughes Health and Rehab, 29 Highland St., West Hartford, CT 06119.
