Obituary for Dorothy E. Lucafo (Brannan)

Dorothy E. (Brannan) Lucafo, 83, of Farmington passed away peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Marino Paul Lucafo. Dorothy was born on February 11, 1930 in Laurel, Mississippi to Robert Lindsey and Lochie Vermelle Brannan. After graduation, she moved with her sister, Sarah to Washington, D.C. where she met and married the love of her life, her husband, Marino. They moved to New Haven where she began her career at A. C. Gilbert. Upon moving to Farmington, she work as an administrative assistant in various businesses. She retires in 1990 from Heublein as a Sale Administration Manager. She leaves behind her devoted daughter Paula, her sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Ronald Zafonte of Vienna, VA; her brother James Paul Brannon of Woodstock, VA as well as many nieces and nephews. Her family is sincerely grateful to all her caregivers and concerned neighbors who eased her passing. Dorothy was a communicant of the Church of St. Patrick, Farmington. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 – 7 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at The Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington. Everyone is asked to meet directly at Church. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Donations in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Farmington Valley VNA, 8 Old Mill Lane, Simsbury, CT 06070.
