Obituary for Dorothy Langan (Galligan)

DOROTHY GALLIGAN LANGAN Dorothy Langan (nee Galligan), 92, of West Hartford passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2015 after a brief illness. A long time West Hartford resident who was a political advocate and a proud graduate of Mount St. Joseph’s Academy, she was an active member of the St. Brigid Ladies’ Guild and was associated with the Meals for the Elderly Program at the Elmwood Community Center. She was the daughter of Marilda Paquette and William Galligan. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard T. Langan; two daughters, Margaret (Evan Ladouceur) Langan of New York City and Katherine (Wallace) White of Glastonbury; five beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Emma Ladouceur of New York and Bill, Emily and Thomas White of Glastonbury; one brother, William Charles Galligan. Her sister, Ann Margaret Galligan DeNoia, predeceases her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Church at 1088 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 9th from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home at 1084 New Britain Avenue. West Hartford.
