Obituary for Dorothy Francis (Gayson)

Dorothy (Gayson) Francis of Farmington, died on Saturday (September 27, 2014), wife of the late George J. Francis of 54 years, who died in 1997. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Blanche (Wilczewski) Gayson. She retired from the Conn. Spring & Stamping Company in 1985, where she was Executive Secretary to the President and CEO. She was a member of the Tunxis Seniors, Farmington Valley Women’s Club, Inc., the Tunxis Garden Club and St. Helena’s Flower Group. She was a former member of the Polish J. League – Hartford/New Britain. She leaves her cousins, Anne Fritze of Farmington; Patricia Hollingsworth of Concord, NC, Georgeanne Berg of Trumbull; and her dear friend, Michael Williams of San Francisco, CA. She was predeceased by her beloved niece, Elaine Sullivan.
Funeral procession will be on Saturday, October 4, at 10:00 am from the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. 10:30 am at the Church of St. Helena, Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hour will be prior to the funeral procession from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the funeral home.
