Daniel V. Ambrosio, 90, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Guilhermina (de Gouveia) Ambrosio, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, son of the late Joao and Maria (de Vasconcelos) Ambrosio, he came to Hartford in 1967 and had lived in West Hartford since 1981. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Hanson-Whitney Co. for many years. Daniel loved spending time with his family, spending time in his garden and making wine. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Besides his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses, Antonio and Jeanne Ambrosio and Joseph and Michelle Ambrosio all of Farmington, Maria and Salvatore Gallo of New Britain and Fatima and Shelby Walton of Bloomfield; three sisters, Angelina Madalena, Marizinha Rodrigues and Conceicao Pereira; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral procession will be Thursday, 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 24, from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. There will be a Seven Day Mass on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:00 pm in Our Lady of Fatima.
