Craig R.  Schroll
Craig R. Schroll, 75, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Barbara (Cardinal) Schroll, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at Hartford Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, son of the late Raymond and Helen (Hayes) Schroll , he had lived in Glastonbury for 27 years. Craig was a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 1961 and served four years during the Vietnam Era. He graduated from RPI with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and retired from United Technologies Corp., Fuel Cell Division in 2000 after 31 years. Besides his wife, he leaves a son Kirk Schroll of Boston,MA; a daughter Kimberly Patenaude and her husband Wayne of Concord, MA; two grandchildren Spencer and Bridget Patenaude and a sister Marlea Cashman and husband Jeffrey of Norwalk; a sister-in-law and brother-in- law Kathy and Don Picard of Glastonbury and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11 at 10:00 am in St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumnae, Class of 1961 Fund, 47 Mohegan Ave., New London, CT 06320.
