Obituary for Craig John Carucci

Craig John  Carucci
Craig John Carucci, 77, of Niantic, formerly of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 surrounded by his devoted and loving wife and family. He was born on January 15, 1938 in Hartford to the late Joseph and Helen (Krause) Carucci. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, the University of New Haven and the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He served nine years in the Connecticut National Guard, 134th Military Police Unit. Craig joined the West Hartford Police Department and proudly served the public for 36 years. He started as a patrolman, worked his way up through the ranks and fulfilled his childhood dream by serving his last 14 years in the department as Assistant Chief of Police. Craig also proudly served as a past President of the West Hartford Lions Club and was also a member of the Niantic Lions Club. Besides his loving wife, Teresa (O'Meara), he leaves behind his daughter, Karen Roncaioli and her husband Ronald, his son, Kevin and his wife Colleen, his son, Brian and his wife Joanne and his son, Robert and his wife Kara. Craig also leaves behind a special adopted daughter, Maryanne Bourdier and her husband Junior. Craig was a very proud and doting Grampy to his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Craig also leaves behind a brother, two sisters and a great extended family. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, April 8, at 12:00 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Niantic Lions Club, P.O.
