Cesaltina"Votina" Azinheira Durao, 105, died Sunday, June 15, 2014. Born in Vale de Trave, Portugal, she came to Hartford in 1970. She loved to crochet and knit for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved spending time in her garden. Cesaltina leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Manuel and Custodia Azinheira, a daughter and son-in-law, Fernanda and Jose Pereira all of East Hartford; four grandchildren, Nelson Azinheira and his wife Vera of Rocky Hill, Sandy Oliveira and her husband Delfim of Portugal, Eliseu Azinheira and his wife Lisa of South Windsor and Suzanne Pereira of East Hartford; nine great grandchildren, David, Melissa, Samantha, Brian, Ariana, Thomas, Kimberly, Jennifer and Joshua.
Funeral procession will be Wednesday, 9:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the funeral procession from 8:30 - 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Seven Day Mass will be on Sunday, (June 22) 10:00 am at the Church. The family would like thank St. Mary Home and the staff on the 3rd floor for all their loving care.
