Obituary for Carmine Tonino Giammarco

Carmine Tonino Giammarco
Carmine (Tonino) Giammarco, age 80, died at his daughter’s home in Windsor, CT on January 4, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born November 25, 1933 in Celano, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the only son of Domenico Giammarco and Maria Desina Di Censo. He was preceded by his wife of 52 years, Anna Giammarco. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Italian Navy and served from 1951 to 1963, where he found his passion as an electrician. He immigrated to Hartford, CT with his family in 1965. Carmine worked as an assembler for Wiremold, Colt Fire Arms and later at Griese Advertising Co. as lead electrician in billboard maintenance across the Northeast territory. In 1982, he established CGA Electric, Inc. with his sons; his life dream was realized. One of Carmine's greatest pleasures in life was his three children and four grandchildren who were a great source of pride. Carmine will be especially remembered as a man of great strength and an endless love for his family and friends. He found great satisfaction in his profession; work was his life’s passion, which he shared with everyone that touched his life.
Carmine is survived by his children, Marygrace and husband Dana Susca and their sons Ryan Susca of Windsor, CT and Daniel Susca of Pensacola, FL; Angelo and wife Sandra Giammarco and their daughter Savannah of Middletown, CT; Nino Giammarco and Sharon Julian and their child Emilia of Avon, CT. Our sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff of Vitas Hospice Care; gratitude and love to Edith Jimenez Delgado for supporting Carmine and our family in this time of need. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Jan.11 from 9:30am to 11:00am at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home,1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, followed by a Mass at The Church of St. Brigid, 11:30am, 1083 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
