Arlindo Mendes Ferreira
Arlindo Mendes Ferreira, 65, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Eliane M. Diorio, died Saturday, January 11, 2014. Born in Cumeeira, Penela, Portugal, son of the late Guilherme Pato and Clementina Mendes, he was a resident of East Hartford most of his life. Prior to his retirement he was employed at the Prospect Foreign Car Center, West Hartford for over 30 years. Arlindo was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hartford and a member of the Portuguese Club, Newington. Besides his wife Eliane, he leaves an aunt, Julia Ferreira Pato of Portugal and his extended family in the U.S., Portugal and Brazil. He was predeceased by his wife, Maria Alice Ferreira. Funeral procession will be Tuesday, Jan. 14, 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
