Antonio Cardoso Paiva
Antonio Cardoso Paiva, 77, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Maria Irene (Rodrigues) Paiva, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Carrapichana, Celorico da Beira, Portugal, son of the late Jose and Maria Augusta Paiva, he had lived in Mozambique, Africa for 23 years prior to moving to Hartford. Antonio was employed at St. Francis Hospital for over 30 years before his retirement and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jose and Celia Paiva of Glastonbury and Fernando and Sharon Paiva of Wethersfield; a daughter, Teresa Paiva of Hartford; a brother and sister-in-law, Fernando and Julia Paiva of East Hartford; a brother-in-law, Oscar Rodrigues of Portugal; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Samantha, Cole, Reid, Brian, Anthony, Tatiana and Devon and many nieces and nephews. Funeral procession will be Saturday, (August 1), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Friday, (July 31), from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
