Antonio Armindo Agostinho Vale da Serra, 67, of South Glastonbury, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Born in Reguengo do Fetal, Portugal, son of the late Manuel Carreira Vale da Serra and Adelina Crespo dos Santos, he came to Hartford over 40 years ago. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Local 230. Antonio was an avid fisherman, gardener, and enjoyed cooking for everyone. He was a member for Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Antonio is survived by his loving caretaker and mother of his sons, Fatima N. Campos; two sons, Eric Antonio Vale da Serra and his wife, Kristen, and Sergio Alessandro Vale da Serra, and the joy of his life his grandson, Rui; brothers, Eurico Vale da Serra, Amilcar Jose Vale da Serra, and sisters, Encarnacao Cunha and Fernanda Batalha. He also leaves several nieces and nephews in Connecticut and Portugal. Calling hours will be on Thursday, (September 1), from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, (September 2), at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane St., Hartford. Please meet directly at the Church.
