Obituary for Angela Croce (Picano)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Picano Croce of Rocky Hill on December 29th. Angela was born in Hartford, CT on July 2, 1926, the only child of John and Mary Coiro Picano. She married John F. Croce in 1947 and shared a strong, loving partnership for 67 years. They raised three children in their West Hartford home and nurtured them with strong faith and values, and unconditional love and support that have been passed along to their grandchildren and great grandchildren. During their many years in West Hartford, Angela and John were active parishioners in the St. Brigid Church community. Later in life, Angela was a daily participant in the televised mass. They also enjoyed many wonderful years at their winter home in Jupiter, Florida surrounded by family and countless friends. Angela was a beautiful woman and an elegant lady. She was selfless, humble, and independent, possessing a quiet inner strength throughout her life. Angela treasured her family and friends. The life that she built with John remains the cornerstone for their growing family. Angela's family; her devoted husband John, and their children Donna Croce Landroche and husband Chuck; Robert Croce and wife Donna, and Marybeth Croce Phelps and husband Steve will always hold her close in their hearts. Her eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren will fondly remember their "Mimi" forever. Following Angela's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Eucharistic Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11am at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000-Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. We give thanks for the life of Angela.
